Fusion winter guard's "story":
Sponsored by the Parsippany Police Athletic League (PAL), Fusion is a non-profit performing arts organization. The Fusion organization focuses on fostering friendships through the learning of commitment, dedication, camaraderie, athleticism, dance, and drama. We rehearse, travel and compete every weekend for 9 months starting in September. Fusion competes nationally in Winter Guard International (WGI), and locally in the Tournament Indoor Association (TIA), and the Mid-Atlantic Indoor Network (MAIN).
In 1978 Ed Bopp and Helen Amermin founded an indoor organization named the 'Colonial Brigade' which competed in the local MAA circuit. The Guard finished third in that circuit their 1st year. In 1983 the Colonial Brigade won the American Legion Championship in Wildwood, New Jersey. 1990 marked a name change for the organization as Fusion was born. Locally, Fusion completed an undefeated season and won the local MAA Circuit "A" Class Championship. The years that followed brought about many changes for the organization but as always these changes turned into learning and growing experiences making the Fusion organization what it is today.
